Verse of the Day: “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;” John 11:25 NIV

Things that are awesome: ... Shopping for Christmas presents online,., My dad has been into this for quite some time, but I always assumed it wasn't as good as shopping at real stores where you could actually "see" what you were getting.  Well this year, I wasn't having much luck w/ my method, so I decided to try amazon.  I have found so many great gifts, and thanks to their "super saver shipping" deal where you get free shipping if you spend over $25, I haven't had to pay anything extra!  I've gotten some great prices on things, and its super convenient too! Try it out!

House Quote of the Day:   "You don't want to propose at a wedding... emotions running high, people making stupid decisions... You want something more like a Buddhist temple. Or an aquarium. Or a Buddhist aquarium." (House, to Wilson)

Far Side of the Day:

Psych fact of the day: studies show that religious ppl tend to live longer, have greater physical and mental health, and happier marriages than non- religious ppl do.

Verse of the Day: ““I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:14-15 NIV

Things that are awesome: .. Public transportation.  I am legally blind in one eye, so I don't drive, and without the public bus system here in Minnesota, my life would be considerably more limited.  Even though I complain about it sometimes (the lateness, or buses that don't stop long enough for you to catch them..), overall this is a huge asset in the community.. not just for me, but for tons of eco-conscious, and elderly people too! The SW buses even have wi-fi now- I was able to watch "prison break" on hulu on my way into minneapolis today- how sweet is that?!!

House quote of the day:
House: A black guy voting for the (white) opposition? Does Obama know about this?"
Foreman: "I tried calling him on the 'Brother' Hotline. He didn't pick up."

Far Side of the Day:

Psych fact of the day: tangible support=material aid or help that diminishes or resolves a problem.

Verse of the Day:  “Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:7, 9-10 NIV

Things that are awesome:     ... For years, I wasn't a fan of coffee creamer (mostly bc of one bad experience w/ the hazelnut kind... eesh. nasty), but I discovered this one earlier this year had a change of heart. It is SOOO good... Great taste of coconut without being too sweet. Anyone who loves cocount or almond joys should definetly try this. Yum!!

House quote of the day; "Sometimes the best gift is the gift of never seeing you again." (House)

Far Side of the Day:

Psych fact of the day: matching hypothesis=partners who are equally attractive are more likely to stay together and be more satisfied.

Verse of the Day:When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John 8:12 NIV

Things that are awesome: ... Changing into pajamas after a long hard day of work.  I used to make fun of my mom for changing into her pajamas at 7pm, but now I"m just as bad as she is.  It feels SO GOOD to put on fuzzy pajama pants and a sweatshirt after getting home from work- totally puts you into 'chill mode.' Try it out!

Verse of the Day:“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35 NIV

Things that are awesome: Having a missionary for a brother. Jonathan has been on a cross country missions trip since august, doing street witnessing in various cities with two friends of his.  So far they have been to California, Washington, and Hawaii.. and tomorrow they're coming to MInnesota- yay!  The cool thing about being the sister of a missionary is that I get to know him as a whole person- I've watched him grow up, struggle with things, and come to this amazing enthusiasm for God. Plus, I get the honor of praying with him whenever we have the chance, and learning from him about all his different experiences.  I'm so excited to see him tomorrow!!

Book Review: ... This is a book I picked up from a thrift store, and boy am I glad I did. I'd give this one a 9/10 on the awesomeness scale.  It was kind of slow right at the begginning, but I grew to love the characters as the book went on and the ending had a FANTASTIC twist that I did NOT see coming. Basically.. the story of a girl who finds out her sister is missing, and comes home to London to find out what happened to her. Check it out!

House Quote of the Day:
Taub: "Really? You and Cuddy?
House: "For Realz!... Foreman can translate."

Far Side of the Day:

Psych Fact of the Day: RAT (Random Association Test)= tests the mind for its ability to see connections between seemingly unrelated words (e.g. down/question/check). The more of these questions a person is able to answer correctly (answer: they are all marks), the more creative they are  judged to be. Creative minds can see connections where others cannot.

Verse of the day: In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” Hebrews 1:1-2 NIV

Things that are awesome: photo.JPG Decorated Christmas trees. This one is mine.. after I finished hanging ornaments this afternoon. First time I've taken on the job by myself... coulda used my friend Jen's artistic eye.. but I think it turned out alright. :)

House quote of the day:
                                       House: I've list my mojo.
Wilson: "Did you retrace your steps? Check your pockets?"

Far Side of the Day:

Psych fact of the day= promotion focused vs prevention focused: PROMOTION focused ppl approach situations in terms of potential gain and are willing to take risks. PREVENTION focuses ppl view sit in terms of their potential for failure/punishment and are WARY of risks.

Verse of the day:“[The Word Became Flesh] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning." (1 John 1:1)

Things that are awesome: ...Sisters in the faith.  Today I had to make a hard decision not to attend a social event because I felt it went against what the Bible says as far as purity, and so was at home by myself when one of my friends from high school called, and kept me company awhile with her chatter. :) She has an amazing faith herself, so I talked to her about what happened, and she encouraged me to be confident in the decision I'd made. Whenever I feel alone, God seems to send an emissary to convince me that I'm not. Yay Jesus-freak sisters! :P

House: "Please don't put me on a pedestal."

Far Side of the Day:

Psych Fact of the Day: narcissistic personality disorder= overemphasis on one's own importance, constant need for attention/affirmation, excessive overconfidence OR insecurity, strained relationships with others...
