10/13

Verse of the Day: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV

Book Review:Got this book from Alyssa also.  Basically tells a story of a woman's 25 year struggle with anorexia, from her youngest son's perspective.  As a psychology person and someone with a related past, I've read a lot of books about eating disorders, but most of them were from the sufferer's perspective, so this was an interesting change of pace.  Definetly super sad.. I felt empathy for both the mother AND her children.  The one good thing I got out of it was further motivation to help people that struggle with this and other similar issues- addictions can be so painful!!!  I can't get in and out of grad school fast enough.

Things that are awesome: My brother Jonathan.  He turns 24 today, and I am so proud of the man he has become, how devoted he is to folling Jesus and telling others about him.  He's been a great friend to me also. Best brother I could've asked for! Love ya Jon.

Far Side of the Day:

Urban Dictionary Word of the Day: Bus- Surfing: The act of attempting to ride a bus by standing in the aisle like a surfer. The goal is to stand for as long as possible without touching anything (seats, poles, people) for support.

Psych Fact of the Day: Zeigernick Effect= its easier to remember a list of things you have yet to do than a list of things you've already done.
